RETIRED PSYCHOTHERAPIST TO DONATE PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
Knoxville, MD - Marcia E. Rosen(a.k.a. Anastasia), a Certified Transactional Analyst and retired psychotherapist turned educator and non-profit program director, today announced plans to offer the benefits of her expertise and skill free-of-charge to all qualified members of the greater communities in which we are now operating. This includes Montgomery, Frederick and Washington Counties in Maryland and Jefferson County in West Virginia. Ms. Rosen, a top certified Inner Child therapist prior to her retirement was known for her skillfulness in treating abuse issues. With more than twenty-eight years experience in the mental health field, she now functions in the role of educator in the areas of violence prevention, community development and peace building. This outreach to the community comes in the wake of Murat Yagan's recent visit to the United States and his pledged support of the New Horizons violence prevention effort. Mr. Yagan is one of the last known living elders of Ahmusta Kebzeh - an ancient tradition that teaches the art of living harmoniously and abundantly. With Mr. Yagan's support and guidance, Ms. Rosen, Founder and Program Director of the New Horizons Support Network, Inc., has pledged the gift of sharing her professional talents in the hopes of creating a peaceful, violence-free community in Montgomery County that integrates Kebzeh traditions with time-tested psychological strategies. "It has been in my mind for some time to offer my professional expertise without charge to members of our community," said Ms Rosen. "I believe my decision is critical in creating our model of a community that is free of the hindrances of competition, fear and scarcity that I saw dominating my work during my years in private practices. The notion of "reciprocal maintenance" wherein people look out for one another simply because we are all brothers and sisters, is what feels most right for me. I wish to place myself in a position to give my talents freely in order to spread the principles of peace and non-violence through educating and healing whole communities. My not charging for my professional services is one small thing that I can do to uphold this perspective. The caveat, however, is that recipients of my gifts must be willing to learn, practice and pass on the violence prevention and community development principles we teach .in our program." The New Horizon's community, a volunteer organization providing support groups and educational programs to deter violence, brings together like-minded people to create model community structures. Volunteers are now being sought to help expand New Horizons' violence prevention, community development and peace building projects. Donations as well as other types of funding for New Horizons programs, an approved 501c(3), are very much appreciated to support the public application of this prototype in order to replace the primary funding Ms. Rosen had been providing with her psychotherapy fees.
