WHAT YOUR SCORE TELLS YOU

If You Scored: 96 - 125, your inner warrior energy is currently being held within you with immense quantities of it being channeled into the Dark Side path. This means that your inner warrior energy is being stored within your psyche and robbing you of optimum health, joy, peace and overall well-being as a result of your not healing the Primitive Pain you have accumulated over your lifetime. This Dark Side Warrior energy is high and aggressive within you. Your score suggests you are intensely driven by what appears to you as survival-determined necessities, many of which in reality are only exaggerated wants (not needs). You are self-absorbed and, no doubt, discount others frequently.

If you scored: 60 - 95, the amount of Dark Side energy you carry appears to be moderate. However, your discounting of yourself and others still remains high. You need to pay close attention to your Primitive Pain and the ways in which you protect yourself from feeling, particularly around current and past losses. Your emotional and physical health, further requires that you monitor yourself and your relationships for signs of discounting.

If you scored: 36 - 59, you may still be carrying active Dark Side energies but your manner of doing so is passive or repressed. You have one of two basic modes if you scored in this group; Mode A or Mode B. The Mode A individual may often be gentle rather than passive. However, there can often be a fine line between these two. Careful scrutiny is necessary here. This person is is often someone who has been seriously and deliberately moving in the direction of reducing Dark Side destructiveness. Mode B denotes an individual who has their Dark Side energy severely repressed. Individuals with Mode A will generally experience a great deal of peace, joy and calm while Mode B people will typically experience depression.

Mode B individuals typically use the Dark Side to maintain the status quo, meaning that the Dark Side is frequently buried or hidden beneath what may be a highly over-adaptive manner. Mode B scores in this range generally indicate excessive or inappropriate care taking. Often the allowing of others to abuse emotionally or psychologically plays a significant role in relationships. However, both Modes need to monitor an inclination to discount others or allow others to discount them. Also, monitor a strong inclination to be inactive to avoid conflict and disharmony when it may be injurious to your well-being and keep a check on your current state of stability and balance. You may require more harmony than other types. Your personal level of internalized, unconscious Dark Side functioning can readily increase if you do not have fairly consistent harmony. You particularly need to be conscious of the impact on you from the Dark Side toxicity of others close to and around you. Intimacy is a great need of yours and you need to pay close attention to getting this need met regularly to maintain your health.

If your score is: 25 - 35, your Dark Side may no longer be actively destructive. You may have come through the tempering process of a journey similar to mine and returned a Compassionate Warrior whose strength is combined with gentleness except in extreme emergencies.

Excerpted from Exploring Your Dark Side (working title)

Each of us comes into life biologically equipped to fight or flee in order to survive, a capability of the primitive or lower brain carried forth from our prehistoric ancestry. As we grow from birth to adulthood, we learn by virtue of our human or higher brain to temper this primitive animal nature that reacts instinctively to threat.

Through the advanced capabilities of the human brain/mind, social learning and the wisdom gained as we grow, we develop civilized, highly sophisticated modes of responding if we use these resources to their optimum. Nonetheless, throughout this enlightenment process, our basest survival urges remain, barely evolved, yet typically disguised by the socially appropriate masks we have devised in order to make our way in the world.

Behind our disguises an Inner Warrior lurks, bred out of the survival strategies of our archaic instincts to fight or flee. Constantly on guard and intent on protecting us from threat and harm, our primitive animal nature operates dominantly in one of two basic modes within the personality. Which profile fits you in your day-to-day life, that of the Compassionate Warrior or the Dark Side Warrior? Or, are you somewhere in between?

The Compassionate Warrior, drawing on humanity’s greatest wisdom, has learned to: 1. Transcend primitive impulses to fight or flee (i.e. the stress/survival reaction); 2. Transform underlying psychological survival issues that fuel destructive warrior activities into a wisdom and magic that enhances life; and 3. Honor the Essence within the self and in all other living things. This personality entity has mastered the mysterious art of synergizing the various human energy systems: intellect, emotion, the body and spirit. Its ways are extraordinary, exemplified by an open-heart and faith in oneself and/or the Divine.

The Dark Side Warrior, on the other hand, is dominated by the baser instincts. This entity’s ways are aggressive and self-protective, driven by survival imperatives that are not necessarily grounded fully in reality. Its thinking is linked, biologically, to a savage past that depended upon brute force to stay alive. Today this formidable force still bubbles caustically beneath a civilized countenance in each one of us.

This personality entity while often functioning in an outwardly schooled manner has not yet learned the art of working with the energy systems beyond a rudimentary level. This Warrior is still inwardly dominated by its primitive urges, albeit unconsciously, exemplified by a rigid holding to outmoded views and archaic habits of behaving that reinforce a closed or shadowed heart and an absence of faith and trust in oneself and/or a Higher Power.

Where you are on your path of self-discovery, according to the Warriors’ profiles will give you a starting point for consideration, if you wish to develop the profound art of using the energy systems of your body, mind and spirit to reach your highest levels of consciousness, overall health and well-being and, thus, purposefully direct your personal evolutionary process.
