GOODNIGHT SWEETHEART,
 GOODNIGHT

DURATION: 2HRS

A play in three acts has been adapted from the book "Goodnight Sweetheart,  Goodnight' by Richard G. Carter. The play based on the true story of the sensational  doo-wop singing group Pookie Hudson and the Spaniels tells how the group introduced  black rhythm and blues to main stream rock audiences, creating a wonderful  history of a lesser- known group's long-range impact on rock's development. The production  created to entertain and educate the audience bridges the younger and older  generations together through great music.

Goodnight Sweetheart will showcase the creative talents of local high  school and college talent from Duke Ellington School of the Performing Arts, University of the  District of Columbia, and other arts organizations. Part of the proceeds for opening  night will go to a local Aids and youth organization. Goodnight Sweetheart, Goodnight is  entertaining, heartfelt, and leaves the audience wanting to hear more good music that  soothes the soul.

"Bridging youth communities together through the creative arts"

ORGANIZATION INFORMATION

FPI was established in response to the declining moral climate of young people and to combat the negative portrayal of inner city youth by the  media. (FPI) saw a lack of hope and solutions to major issues facing youth today and  indicated a need to change the broken spirits of disadvantage youth. (FPI) decided to  give back to the community by finding creative ways to inspire youth by getting them  involved with video production hoping to help youth to lead productive lives. (FPI) was founded three years ago in Washington, D.C. by two of its  directors, Andrea Levermore and William Walker 111. Both Andrea and William have experience in the creative arts. DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAMS (PRESENT AND PAST)
Since its inception Faith Productions Inc. has developed and produced two successful television/video productions highlighting the creative talents  of youth. Our 1998 award winning program series "Teen Gospel" is a program that tries  to make a positive difference in the life of young people. "Teen Gospel" is a  program that feature soul filled music, poetry, dance, and a talk format. "Teen  Gospel" embraces youth and celebrates their differences by highlighting and  capturing the choices that youth make in life.

"Teen Gospel" goes into he community and gives youth the opportunity to  express their views and make their choices known that it is "cool to be spiritual"  "Teen Gospel" is a program for youth by youth.

Our programs have been viewed by thousands of people through out the Washington metropolitan area on the District of Columbia Public Access  Television.

Faith Productions also produced a powerful video that was well received in  the community that deals with the issue of youth racism. To Cross a Line, is  a twenty minute educational video drama that explores the issue of race relations  among children. The story hinges upon a realistic racial situation involving the  two young kids who are of different races. "To Cross a Line" was written by a  fourteen year old youth who is also one of the main characters in the video. "To Cross a  Line incorporates a powerful sixty second musical montage that shows youth the  struggle for racial harmony thirty years ago.

Faith Productions produced A Salute to Dr. Dorothy Irene Height, a  theatrical production saluting the lifetime achievements of the former President, of  the National Council of Negro Women. This production also featured the Union  Temple Baptist church youth choir.

As producers our programs are significant because our programs help young  people to realize their dreams and their true worth as individuals. We exist to  enlighten youth lives to make a positive difference in our communities and the world.  We believe that economically disadvantaged children, like more affluent  children, should have access to the best that society has to offer. It is important  that we surround youth with mentors and experts in the creative arts field who can  help educate youth about the cultural world that awaits them.

Participants in our programs are expected to develop marketable skills and  become leaders in the field of the creative arts. In addition, our programs will  provide young people with the quality programming that they can both enjoy and relate to.

Additionally our program will represent images in a positive way to promote positive television/film/theater productions and to reduce the exposure of  negative images in the entertainment industry.

We believe that if we do not help our generation of youth today there will  not be any leaders tomorrow. Moreover, instead of reflecting on what is wrong with our  youth Faith Productions wants to focus on promoting youth to develop their  character and skills so that they can become positive in their communities.
